Some time ago, Steve represents Konwalik Canonical told that the Ubuntu distro that will come, that is 10:04 (Lucid Acid) no longer has support for LPIA architecture (Low Power Intel Architecture). But for now, support for architectural LPIA series remained in Ubuntu 9:10 (Karmic Koala).
This decision was taken because many users are not so interested in the Low-Power Intel Architecture. Therefore, the developer chose to stop this support.
Canonical has added support for LPIA (Low Power Intel Architecture) since several years ago, and never used on the project Ubuntu Mobile for mobile Intel CPUs with support for Lower Power Architecture. LPIA (Low Power Intel Architecture) almost the same as or ia32 architecture known as the i386 or x86, but not the same at compile time optimization. Canonical does not recommend LPIA (Low Power Intel Architecture) to update their machines to Ubuntu release 10:04, because there are still many limitations.
Ubuntu Mobile Internet Device Edition is an Ubuntu distribution is planned to be run on the platform Intel Mobile Internet Device, perhaps on x86 computers that have basic mobile Intel Atom processor. In it will use the framework GNOME Hildon as a GUI basis.
