271209_3Intel has recently informed the latest experimental results, namely a processor with 48-core therein. Processor 48-core premises is called “Single Chip Cloud Computer” by the intelligence and computational processes capable of about 10 to 20 times more powerful than the Intel Core processors are available now.

Use of long-term goals 48-core processor is to the development of computer usage with new applications and human-machine interface in the future. Although not available to most users in the near future, experimental processor with 48-cores will be distributed by Intel to at least 100 parties in 2010 to the field of academic research and industrial development.

By providing a prototype 48-core processor for software development and programming, will help many developers to create applications that can effectively use the available cores in a processor. The developers of Intel, HP and Yahoo! Open Cirrus has collaborated to develop cloud applications that utilize Intel Architecture processor with this 48-core, using Hadop, Software framework of Java for distributed applications with intensive data processing. Intel and Microsoft are also working together to further explore the use of processors with many cores, such as the processor in the future.

Despite having so many processor cores, the processor is still efficient in power consumption. This processor requires only a 125 Watt power when working with better performance and only requires around 25 watts when idle.
