Following a request European Commission, 10 major mobile phone companies finally agreed to adopt a universal battery charger design for their mobile phones. The charger compatibility will make the user can recharge the battery cell phone anywhere from one charger. Implementation universal charger  also means cutting large electronics waste because people no longer have to remove the charger when buying a new phone.

Beginning in 2010, consumers can plan the energy recharge his cell phone with this charger. agreement between mobile phone maker also will protect consumers from unsafe charger, which can occur if an incompatible charger used to recharge a mobile phone.

New memorandum of understanding about the change was signed by representatives of 10 leading mobile phone companies, such as LG Electronics, Motorola, Nokia, NEC, Research in Motion, Samsung, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments and Sony Ericsson.

Roadmap Solid State Drive (SSD)

In tube computer era, in fact already appeared ferrite memory SSD devices first and called the auxiliary memory. but with the introduction of drum storage units much cheaper price, the SSD is the first production is stopped. Start in 1970 until 1980 SSD back first implemented on the IBM supercomputer,  Cray and Amdhahl.

In 1978 the company StorageTek developed solid-state drives and the first modem in mid-1980, Santa Clara Systems introduced a product called BatRam, which at that time have 1 Megabyte capacity. Later, in 1983, Sharp PC-500 using solid-state storage Catridge in size 128 kilobytes.

In the 1980s, RAM disk is very popular used. because at that time the price hard drive was very expensive and the speed of the floppy is still very slow. In the modern era in 1995, M-Systems introduced a solid-state flash-based drives, which began the era of SSD is used as a replacement for hard disks, especially for military and aerospace industry where SSD certainly have MTBF (mean time before failures) longer than the disk, ability also withstand extreme impact, excessive vibration and temperature swings. In the year 2006 M-Systems acquired by SanDisk. The range in 2008 and 2009, SSD storage began to be used for devices by notebook standards, although the price of SSD is much more expensive than hard drives.

Google Chrome OS Cooming Soon

Dream of many computer users would be the presence of operating system that could compete with microsoft finally come true. Google, a company that a lot of interesting applications and free, will soon be releasing his newest appliction, which is Google Chrome OS on the second quarter of 2010 and primarily targets netbook users.

What difference  Google Chrome  OS and Microsoft Windows? Google Chrome OS will run on x46 and ARM processors, a netbook with an Intel Atom, Smartbook with Nvidia Tegra Chip or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platform to netbook with AMD Neo can use Google Chrome OS. Also, Google chrome OS can be run to a computer with such low energy netbook to desktop computers.

HTML 5 technologies will also become an inseparable part of the Chrome OS. Many Internet users hesitate when running a web application, but they are not connected to the internet. But with the HTML 5 will all be changed, users can work through the browser, although not connected to the Internet.

Google Chrome OS seems to be not only to assert that Google was growing up but also to disturb the comfort of Microsoft. Like the chrome browser, Chrome OS will be made with the taste of open source. Can not wait to hear what Microsoft would say after hearing this Google’s plan, but any of their comments, Chrome the OS is not just something interesting and wonderful, but also the Revolutionary! Welcome to Google Chrome OS

SSD (Solid State Drive) Advantages compared to hard drives

The following are the advantages SSD compared with the hard drive

1. speed random access for reading the data more quickly, because it does not need a head to move the process read or write

2. Read Latency is much smaller, which causes the application will run through the SSD is much faster than hard drives

3. Performance for reading will be more stable, because the search data location does not depend on the location of the data

4. No sound, because it does not use moving parts or only rely on the chip alone

5. Better temperature, where the SSD is still able to operate at a temperature of 70 degrees Celsius, while the hard drive can only in the range of 5-55 degrees Celsius

6. SSD is lighter weight than the hard drive

7. If there is damage, usually occurs during the process of writing or erasing of data. compared with the usual hard disk will be damaged during the reading process. If damage occurs in the process of writing, then the data will be transferred to a location that is not damaged. But if there is damage to the process of reading, usually the data will be lost forever or error
